Long absence

Somehow, I've let the idea of blogging fall by the wayside for quite a while. It's not as if there hasn't been anything to write about. A lot has happened since I last posted anything. Dorrie and I have travelled to Mexico, Scotland, and Ireland. I've gotten ta tattoo, and then a second one. Our family has increased in size by one dog and three cats. In addition, I've made some remarkable advances in my genealogical research. I was able to find, and visit, the old house that the Matthews family left 185 years ago. It coud stand for some renovation, but it's still standing and I very muchy enjoyed a visit with the family that now owns the property.I also owe a great debt of gratitue to Kate Connelly, the amateur genealogist from Ballymoney who provided invaluable assistance in my search for the house. Here's a photo of the house as it looks now.

I promise that I will do my best to keep posting. We have three trips coming up that I look forward to sharing with you.
