Vashti Lamdin Chandler

Pontiac, Sept’r 2d  /82d 1

I was born in the Parish of Tadley Hampshire England on Sept’r 2 1818.

I was the Daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Lamdin. My Parents moved to the adjoining Parish of Pamber when I was about four years old where they lived on a farm I think about four years then they moved to a small village named Little London. There my girlhood was passed. In 1836 I was married to my late Husband, Jonathan Chandler in the same year my parents immigrate to the United States and my Husband and myself followed them in 1838 bringing with us an infant child – now Mrs. Annie Watson of Frankfort, Mich. We lived on Long Island over four years, most of the time in Flushing, we removed to in 1842 in the fall). We removed to Michigan first winter we lived with my Father on his farm then settled in Pontiac where my Husband died March 17, 1879, aged 67 years & 17 days – ten children survived him, Three Sons and Seven Daughters. James, the Oldest Son, died Jan’y. 31, 1882, in his 43d year---
